Ready to join the GBS Summer University? Here’s how to apply:

Step 1

Before you apply, have a look at our application criteria to check your eligibility!

Step 2

Start by registering on our website: simply provide your name, email address, and create a password.

Step 3

Once you're set up, you can fill in our application form.
Here’s a guide to what you will need during the process so you can prepare the required documents beforehand.

Documents needed:

Passport
Curriculum Vitae
English certificate (not necessary if English is your first language or your studies are in English)
A photo of yourself (will be used in our preparatory materials only)
A grade transcript from your university (for official enrollment and the university certificate)

Other materials needed:

A motivational statement explaining why you are looking forward to joining GBS and which topics you are particularly interested in. This can be submitted either in written form (max. 1,000 characters including spaces) or preferably as a short video (approx. 2min).
A listing of known (design) software tools and corresponding proficiency levels.

Step 4

In order to complete the form successfully, you agree to the General Terms and Conditions. Please note that the Withdrawal or Deferral Refund Policy applies from the moment you submit your application. Your contract partner is OeAD student housing.

After successfully completing the form, you will also receive a confirmation mail to your inbox. Please also check your spam-folder, if you can't find it.

Applications are evaluated periodically and on a rolling-basis.

How we will proceed:

Applications are evaluated periodically on a rolling basis.

To receive feedback between 27-30 April 2026 - and have an early chance at a scholarship - you must apply by 19 April 2026.
To receive feedback between 11-15 May 2026 - and be considered for a scholarship - you must apply by 30 April 2026.
To receive feedback between 14-19 May 2026 - and complete official registration at BOKU University - you must apply by 10 May 2026.
To receive feedback during the week of 15-18 June 2026, you must apply by 31 May 2026.*

*Please note that BOKU credit registration (7 ECTS) closes in mid-May. Applications remain open until 15 June for participation only (no credit).
