GBS 2021 - Looking back
The 11th edition of the GBS took place from July 17 until August 8, 2021 and has successfully closed with 46 alumni from 30 nations covering 10 time zones around the world!
There was a total of 20 days of teaching within 9 thematic modules, to which 50 lecturers contributed. The program included:
- Inspiring talks and discussions about sustainable architecture, ecological building alternatives, passive house technologies, renewable energy production and integrated urban planning.
- Tours and visits demonstrating Vienna’s best practices
- Lecturers live-streaming from Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Germany and Croatia and Austria.
- A real-life case team work on the Otto Wagner Area in Vienna
- Building simulation workshops
While the online program in 2020 and 2021 were significantly different, our mission remained: to offer a unique opportunity for students from architecture and planning to gain 7 ECTS from BOKU University and to enable them to connect with experts and like-minded people from all over the world.
