Public Events 2025

The interdisciplinary summer universities "Alternative Economic and Monetary Systems (AEMS)" and "Green.Building.Solutions. (GBS)" are cordially inviting the interested public to their events:

• "Democracy in a changing climate" will take place on 16 July 2025:
  Across the globe, democratic systems are under pressure. At the same time, the changing climate poses a challenge to our infrastructures, our homes and our way of life. This event will explore the complex challenges and opportunities for democracy in a rapidly changing world.
  The event will welcome speakers Doris Österreicher (University of Stuttgart), Michaela Krömer (Attorney at law), Valerie Huber (Actress, activist, author) and Thomas Thaler (BOKU University). Taking place from 5 pm CEST at TÜWI, BOKU University. More information & registration

• The Panel Discussion "Financing the green transition" will welcome panelists Andreas Breitenfellner (OeNB - Austrian National Bank), Helga Kromp-Kolb (BOKU University) and Christian Felber (Economy for the Common Good) to discuss how to initiate a transition, and how to fund it. The event will take place on 23 July 2025 at 6:30 pm CEST at BUWOG, Rathausstraße 1, 1010 Vienna. More information & regstration

• The AEMS Movie Night invites to a public screening of "Outgrow the system" on 29 July 2025 @ Votivkino:
  The movie by directors Cecilia Paulsson & Anders Nilsson celebrates the abundance of creativity and ideas that exist worldwide, urging them to collide and converge. It strives to empower viewers to engage in discussions about economic models and to foster hope that change is not only possible, but already underway. Link to movie website

• The Closing Event of GBS will take place on 02 August 2025 at 6 pm at TU Wien, Kuppelsaal, Karlsplatz 13, 1040 Vienna:
