AEMS 2026 once more provided an interdisciplinary learning experience in Vienna - hosting 57 participants from 28 nations!
Following a holistic approach to economics and sustainability, the programme offered a range of acitivities and teaching formats, from in-class lectures and (panel) discussions, educational games/simulations, reflection sessions and workshops! Special highlights included:
- The Open Space Market Place, where participants could share inspiring insights into their own projects in their home countries.
- The "Visiting local initiatives"-Tour took students to pioneering organizations in Vienna - learning more about first-hand examples of transformation in action.
- Throughout AEMS, students got together in project teams to develop solutions for systemic change, which culminated in presentations and pitches of a manifold array of approaches!
Further highlights of the summer program include extra-curricular social activities with sports evenings, movie night, dinner at a typical Austrian "Heurigen" restaurant, and public events that where held together with the summer university Green.Building.Solutions.
