Application criteria

Are you curious if you can apply for AEMS?

You are ready to go if you fulfil these criteria:

Highly motivated individuals from all fields and backgrounds (background in economics is not necessary)
Demonstrated commitment to bringing about positive change
18 years or above
Proficient in written and spoken English
A-level / pre-university level required
Able to commit to the duration of the program and to attend the three-week program in person in full in Vienna

What are the additional application criteria when applying for a scholarship?

Active student status
Financial need
Motivation statement
Supporting documents, such as a reference letter of your university professor or awards

Applications are evaluated periodically and on a rolling-basis. This means, that we send out results in monthly waves:

To receive feedback in the week of 16-19 February 2026, you need to apply by 15 February 2026.
To receive feedback in the week of 16-19 March 2026, you need to apply by 8 March 2026.
To receive feedback in the week of 13-16 April 2026, you need to apply by 29 March 2026.
To receive feedback in the week of 18-21 May 2026, you need to apply by 10 May 2026.
To receive feedback in the week of 15-18 June 2026, you need to apply by 31 May 2026.
