Participation fee and scholarships
Participation fees
- Regular participation fee:
EUR 1.390,- - Reduced participation fee for scholarship holders:
EUR 590, -
The fees include all program components and lecture-related activities, such as catered evening events, one dinner at an Austrian "Heurigen" restaurant and sports evenings. Find more information on what's included in the fee here.
- Accommodation: EUR 200,-*
*Includes accommodation in a student residence in Vienna for the entire 3 weeks of the program, plus 1 optional extra-week after AEMS 2024 free of charge. You will live in a single room in a shared apartment and can stay there from 12 July – 09 August, 2024. The accommodation is organized by us, OeAD student housing. If you want to make use of this exclusive promotion, tick the accommodation box in the application form.
Company fee: The summer university is an ideal capacity building program for employees! If the participation is paid by a company, the participation fee is: EUR 2.290,- (incl. accommodation in a student residence; excl. VAT).

Scholarships
Our academic partners offer scholarships for highly qualified students in need of financial support to participate in the AEMS for a reduced fee - have a look at the full list of our partners here. Eligibility is checked based on application documents.
If you are a student or member of one of our partners and want to apply for a scholarship, please mention the partner institution at “scholarship reference” in the application form. Also, you will be asked to fill in a short Motivation Statement for the scholarship.
After application, scholarships are awarded based on the below criteria:
- Financial need
- Motivation letter
- Very good command of English
- Minimum academic level: pre-university (A-level)
Full scholarships by IDM/DRC
Our partners at the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM) and Danube Rectors' Conference (DRC) are offering 2 full scholarships for students at their member universities to participate in the AEMS Summer University this year. To apply, have a look at their members to see if you're eligible and enter the scholarship reference "IDM" in the application form.

Bring-a-friend-offer: There is a special treat for our former participants of both summer universities: As an alumni of Green.Building.Solutions. or AEMS you can get one week in our student residence in Vienna summer for free, if somebody joins upon your recommendation!
