The interdisciplinary summer universities "Alternative Economic and Monetary Systems (AEMS)" and "Green.Building.Solutions. (GBS)" are cordially inviting the interested public to their events:

• The Public Opening Event "Who builds the future?" brings together perspectives from climate research, economic justice, and sustainable spatial design to explore the forces shaping our future: The event focuses on identifying innovative approaches and practical solutions for designing climate-resilient and equitable systems. Join Marlene Engelhorn, Doris Österreicher, and Daniel Huppmann for a discussion on who benefits from existing systems, where current approaches fall short, and what kinds of social and spatial transformation may be necessary in the years ahead. • The AEMS Movie Night invites to a public screening of "YANUNI" on 28 July 2026 at 7:30 pm CEST at Votivkino, Währinger Straße 12, 1090 Vienna: The movie by Richard Ladkani follows the extraordinary journey of Juma Xipaia, an Indigenous chief from the Brazilian Amazon, as she rises from a remote village in Xipaya territory to the political frontlines of climate justice. A fearless defender of her people and the rainforest, Juma has survived six assassination attempts while confronting illegal gold miners, land-grabbers, and multinational corporations threatening her ancestral land. At once epic and intimate, YANUNI is a powerful portrait of resilience, Indigenous sovereignty, and the fight to protect the world’s largest rainforest—for future generations and the planet we call home. • The GBS Closing Event will take place on 01 August 2026 at 6 pm at TUtheSky, Getreidemarkt 9, 1060 Vienna: The event invites to the certification ceremony and the official farewell celebrations of the students with wine, buffet and music. Registration via mail to [email protected]
