When building our student residences we try to cater for different needs but we are, of course, unable to influence individual behaviour such as social distancing, hand washing and limiting the frequency with which we touch our faces.
One of the biggest advantages of a passive house is - among other things - the high standard of its ventilation and filtration performance, which, in turn, can control the spread of viruses like COVID-19 and massively counteract despite closed windows.
Our passive houses automatically ventilate themselves with outdoor air every two hours, even when the windows are closed. Which doesn't mean you shouldn't open them now and again. :-)
